Hi guys, found about the bug of the sd explorer too, didn't notice that homebrew channel does this too.

I'd recommend to give fsck.vfat a try on linux machine (http://linux.die.net/man/8/fsck.vfat)

Maybe chkdsk on freedos or msdos for that matter would work too. (I have no idea if any of it has USB support)

If you're not short on M$ licenses and you find it ideologically okay, you could install windows in xVM (former virtualbox), set up the USB device for the SD card reader for the virtual machine and fix the filesystem as well.

I believe ftpii works fine and really deletes the files.

yeah, I noticed that bug too, to get the space back just use the error-checking tool in windows under the properties for that drive, this will put the files in a folder called found.000 and then you can delete them to get your space back. SD explorer has the same bug so it's probably in the libfat or something that both of these apps use. the bug report is here http://wiibrew.org/wiki/Talk:Homebrew_Browser#Delete_Files_Bug

I have found a bug in the latest stable version of the HBB. It is a reproducible error so it kind of guarantees that something is up. I install doom via the hbb, then remove doom via the hbb. The files seem to be deleted but on inspection, they are still taking up space on the sd card. I format the card, free space is back, try again, and same thing happens. I'm assuming all the applications use the same delete script, and if so, it's not freeing space after deletion. Just most people wouldn't realize since most things are on the range of a few kb and they have large sd cards.
