Add PainTown v3.5.0
Project page: http://paintown.sourceforge.net/
Wii version: http://sourceforge.net/projects/paintown/files%2Fpaintown%2F3.5.0%2Fwii-3.5.0.zip/download
I think this link is better. It include everything, so you can launch the game directly without moving any file.
And by the way, LuaFWii has been updated :

Hi, I have recently lost my broadband so am back to using a 56k dialup connection. I use a USB WiFi adapter in “Access Point” mode on my laptop to broadcast my connection to my other laptop and my Wii. It’s slow, but it works….
After finding what settings seem to work best on the USB adapter, I’m able to connect the Wii to the internet this way (Shop Channel and Internet Channel work… slowly….), but the HomeBrew Browser is having problems….
It starts out connecting ok, and gets down to:
Requesting repositories list … Repositories list received.
Then it gets stuck on:
Requesting Homebrew List… Failed to receive Homebrew List.
Requesting Homebrew List…Failed to receive Homebrew List.
Requesting Homebrew List…Failed to receive Homebrew List.
Requesting Homebrew List…Failed to receive Homebrew List.
Requesting Homebrew List…Couldn’t receive Homebrew list… returning you to HBC
At that point it actually freezes, then I press the RESET button on the Wii and it says:
Homebrew Browser shutting down…
And it stays frozen there until I hold down the power button….
Anyway, the freezing aside (that’s not really important to me), I THINK the problem might simply be that it is “timing out” when it’s downloading the Homebrew List — I can see the net traffic downloading data when it’s trying to receive the list, but perhaps it’s downloading so slowly that HBB thinks it’s just not working, so it just gives up and says “failed.” Then eventually the connection just gives up even trying it….
That’s just a guess…. Wold there be a way to increase the length of time it will try to download the Homebrew List before it thinks it failed? Because it’s definitely trying to download it, after the Repositories List is successfully downloaded…..
I tried a couple more times today, and now it’s doing something a bit different.
Now after it says “returning you to HBC” it pauses a few seconds then says:
DEBUG: fwrite error: [1] Not owner
then it does successfully exit to HBC
I tried renaming the listv036.txt file in my homebrew_browser directory, and after trying to run HBC again (with same results and error), I have a new listv036.txt file that is 138.4KB
And now that fwrite error seems to have gone away, but it is still successfully exiting to the HBC without freezing now.
Though HBB still won’t really work for me….
I did try running HHB from a separate SD card with an old, separate install of HHB, but I get the same results… and the fwrite error appeared again….
*shrug*
Hi, yep there is a time out which I’m sure is what’s causing the issue. Try this HBB with a 2 minute timeout: http://www.codemii.com/hbb.2min.timeout.dol
Thanks! That one works for me.
For what it’s worth, it only seemed to take about 15 seconds to download the Homebrew List…… How short was the timeout before?
30 seconds would probably be long enough, unless the Homebrew List gets a lot bigger, or my connection gets a lot slower, heh.
It was 15 seconds, I didn’t think there were many (or any) 56k’ers out there!
For your information, i am based in China, my connection is a ”common” chinese connection, and it always fail to receive the Homebrew list, but the list036.txt always contains some data, so here i think its also due to timeout problem. maybe you could increase it or reset it to 0 each time a data is received
Hi, please try this version out: http://www.codemii.com/hbb.2min.timeout.dol
WiiPaintball needs an icon. wont download
Thanks, this will be resolved in 1-2 days.
Same here, i sometimes get *failed to receive homebrew list* i formated the sd card but no luck, maybe an known issue??
BTW @teknecal.. i have a dumb question to ask, sometimes when im in the homebrew browser i hear a different song in the background havent heard it since, i actually like the other one i heard, well my question is, is it posible of changin from the current background song to the other one?? sorry couldnt been more specific..
Hi, there is only 1 song that comes with the HBB, it’s found in the homebrew_browser directory called loop.mod. It sounds like you might have your own background music? If you remove loop.mod I believe HBB should re-download it for you (IIRC).
@teknecal.. naw dude, this may sound stupid but the other song i heard its the same as the original but with the beeps only, lol ill try to make a video of it if i ever hear that song again, sounds weird i know.
