when i ran hbb today, it downloaded a zip of all the icons (i think) and it said i could push b to skip but i didn’t. it took a while but eventually it finished and the gui came up. despite that download, the vast majority of the icons were missing and after waiting an eternity for the numbers on the bottom (checking icon) to finally count up to 290 or something, i selected 6-7 apps to download and left the room while they downloaded.
when i came back the familiar crash screen was up, so i pushed z on the gc controller to return to hbc. when i tried to restart hbb to see what needed to be redownloaded, it immediately crashed again. it now consistently crashes before the gui comes up.
i put the sd card in my computer to fix this and i found all the icons in the root of the sd card!
That’s odd, can you zip me up a copy of all the images and homebrew_browser directory and send to teknecal@gmail.com so I can take a look?
Sorry, I already erased them :\ They were all the right icons one would expect to be in the temp directory, but in the root instead.
Also there was a corrupted .zip file in the homebrew_browser directory. I’m going to blame the problem on the corruption of that file. (too bad I erased that too, didn’t think :\ ). I think it was named something to do with icons or images, I can’t remember. Probably that zip that was downloaded at the beginning.
Another thing – the icon counter goes a bit to slow, and freezes the browser while it does counts to 297 (I believe it is) despite (to the pages I visit) looking as if I have all the icons.
How slow, like 2 seconds each icon? Can you check your /apps/homebrew_browser/temp directory and see if the icon files are there?
I would say to try removing all the icons from that directory and see how it goes.
I think that’s abit better.
